As the year 2021 winds down, the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN) has found it worthy and befitting to bestow the Honorary Fellowship of the Association, HATMAN, on Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa, Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) at the headquarters of the Institute in Abuja.
Announcing the award and conferment of the fellowship on Kangiwa, National President of HATMAN, Mr. Aturu Samson, said the decision to do so was arrived at after taking into consideration the enormous contributions Kangiwa had been making in the hospitality and travel-tourism industry of the country.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Ahmed Mohammed Sule, Director, Media and Public Relations of NIHOTOUR, which was made available to our correspondent in Bauchi on Tuesday.
Notably, Aturu said Kangiwa had brought his wealth of experience to bear in the administration of the Institute he is heading, the NIHOTOUR, by repositioning it for better performance in the delivery of capacity building and professional competence upgrade and quality service delivery in the industry.
First National Deputy President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Alhaji Badaki Aliyu who presented the HATMAN Fellowship Award Plaque to Alhaji Nura Kangiwa, said the hospitality and travel-tourism industry of Nigeria would continue to remember and praise the good work Alhaji Nura had done for the industry since assumption of office as Director-General of NIHOTOUR.
He urged him not to relent and never to be deterred in the discharge of his duties in the promotion of capacity building and professional upgrade of practitioners in the country’s hospitality and travel-tourism industry, noting that it was what the sector needed to achieve greater heights and position the industry for better economic growth of Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Nura Kangiwa expressed his happiness and gratitude for finding him worthy of the award.
He promised that this would spur him to do more in taking the hospitality and travel tourism industry of Nigeria to greater heights.
Kangiwa then solicited increased support and cooperation from key players and stakeholders in the industry, as according to him, without their support, collaboration and cooperation, he wouldn’t have achieved the much he had, let alone be recognised for the award of fellowship by HATMAN.
