Three people, including two policemen, were reportedly killed on Thursday in a shootout between the police and hoodlums in the Iwo road area, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The hoodlums, as reliably informed, engaged the policemen from Iwo road Divisional Headquarters in a shootout that lasted for several hours.
Residents and passers-by scampered for safety while business and commercial activities were put on hold.
The Special Security Tactical team code named Operation Burst, as at the time of filing this report, had been deployed in the area to restore normalcy.
Also, police tactical teams were sited at different locations in the Ibadan metropolis.
In a related development, suspected hoodlums have reportedly attacked the station of the Nigeria Police Force and the base of the Nigeria Customs Office in Iseyin, Oyo State.
It was gathered that the hoodlums carted away refrigerators and other valuable items.
There has been a resumption of unrest and looting that have taken over the country in the last few days after the hijack of EndSARS protests by hoodlums.
