Peruzzi to Fellow Artists: Nigerians becoming less tolerant of mediocre music, step up your game

Well-known Nigerian musician Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, fondly called Peruzzi, has claimed that Nigerians are becoming more discriminating in the music they listen to.

The singer emphasizes on the importance of quality music and the evolving standards of Nigerian audiences.

It’s a call for artists to elevate their work or risk being left behind in the industry.

He noted that Nigeria is about to enter a new phase of excellent music.

The singer via his X handle wrote: “Nigerians don wise. If you sing rubbish, dem go clear you.
“Ordinary snippet, dem go don dey warn you. Clearly time for Some real sweet music.
“Do your homework or comot body era.”

Nigerian singer Ric Hassani also recently bemoaned the decline in Nigerian music quality over time.

He noted that the hit songs of the past were of higher caliber than the songs they are dishing out now, which according to him, are“not very good music”.
