The Federal Government on Thursday announced that Eko Bridge in Lagos State would be reopened for use from Friday, August 13.
The Alaka – Costain section of the bridge has been under rehabilitation since June 4, 2021.
But the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr Olukayode Popoola, said in a statement that the brigldge would be reopened for use from Friday, noting that the 10-week repair works on the bridge was completed on schedule.
He said, “The Alaka to Costain section of Eko bridge which was closed to traffic since 4th June, 2021 will now be opened on Friday 13th Aug. 2021.
“The Honorable Minister of Works and Housing thanks the motoring public for their cooperation while the rehabilitation work was ongoing.”
He disclosed that additional works to be carried out on the bridge would not require its closure.
Meanwhile, Popoola announced that traffic would be diverted for the rehabilitation of the burnt Lagos Airport flyover from Aug. 13.
He said work on the flyover is expected to be completed on or before Sept. 22.
