Four people in kidnappers’ den have been rescued by the police operatives in Delta State.
FirstNews gathered that the rescue operation was carried out after the police team received a hint on a kidnapped victim.
“At about 0332hrs, information was received by the Divisional Police Officer, Oghara Division, CSP Jimoh Hassan, that one Solomon Otomierewo of Ibori Road, Oghara and his girlfriend, one Rukewe Urhiephroune, were kidnapped while returning to their house by four armed men who blocked his unregistered Mercedes GLK and took them to a bush along Koko Road.
“On receipt of the information, the DPO swiftly mobilised patrol teams and vigilantes to the bush where information had it that the kidnappers took the victims to.
The kidnappers, on sighting the headlights of the police patrol vehicles, all fled in different directions abandoning the victims”, police said.
Police said that the victims were rescued unhurt.
It was also learnt that through technical intelligence, the victims’ Mercedes Benz GLK was later traced to Oviore near Isiokolo in Ethiope East Local Government Area, where, with the assistance of the army, two of the suspected kidnappers, one Oghenetewhe, surname unknown, and Gift, surname unknown, were arrested and the vehicle recovered from them.
The state acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said efforts were ongoing to ensure that other members of the gang who are at large are apprehended.
