Popular Nigerian Singer Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, also known as Kcee, has promised that until the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope’s children are old enough to care for themselves, his younger brother, Emeka Okonkwo, fondly called E-Money, will take care of them.
At the actor’s funeral on the 17th of May, 2024, in Ukehe, Nsukka, Enugu State, he made the commitment.
“On behalf of my brother, E-Money and our friends, I want to say sorry to the family. Junior Pope is a blessing to this generation. He is somebody that we will never forget in this generation.
“My brother is the godfather of his first son. The friendship we have with Junior Pope has been for ages. When the unfortunate incident happened, my brother said to me that we were going to take up responsibility for his three sons till they were grown.
“But we can’t do that without the support of the family. So, we are saying it openly to the family, we are ready to take care of the three kids to any level they want till they are grown to cater for themselves.
“We will take care of their education, feeding, clothing, and holidays. We are not doing it to show off but to honour our friend’s dying wish for a better life for his children. And we took it upon ourselves that we are going to support this family to train these children,” he said.
Recall that on April 10, 2024, Junior Pope and three others drowned in the Anam River in Anambra State after their boat overturned while they were returning from a filming site.
