The composer of ‘Oniduro Mi’ may have surfaced and is set to reap from the controversial gospel song.
Recall that a few weeks ago there was a rift between the veteran singer, Tope Alabi, and an up and coming gospel singer, Yinka Alaseyori, over a gospel song, Oniduro Mi.
The whole issue started after Alabi criticized Alaseyori’s song titled ‘Oniduro mi ese ooo’.
Oniduro means my guarantor. But Alabi had argued that God is not a guarantor, adding that He is more than that.
Her criticism got a lot of people talking. The popular gospel artist got premium dragging from her fans, colleagues, pastors etc of social media handles and on other platforms.
Some people even went as far as quoting a bible verse for the singer, Hebrew 7 vs 22’, which states, “Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.’’
It was during the controversy that it was realised that Alaseyori was not the original owner of the song but bucause she rendered it better from its original rendition, song became very appealing to listeners.
In the midst of the controversies, a lady, Evangelist Tolu Adelegan, surfaced claiming that she is the original owner of the song and that she composed and performed the song in 2014.
Alabi has since apologised over her comment against the song and have reconciled with Alaseyori.
However, Evangelist Adelegan said she is now in the studio working on the video of Oniduro, promising that by July the video will hit the screen.
The controversies that followed the song now looks like a blessing in disguise for the supposed original owner of Oniduro, who may now reap the fruit of the popularity the song garnered when she releases the video of the song in July.
