Gov Diri swears in another batch of 15 commissioners, creates new ministries

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has again sworn in 15 new Commissioners into the State Executive Council, making the number of his cabinet members a total of 29.

Recall that the Governor had on the 29th of April, 2024, sworn in 14 Commissioners.

The ceremony took place inside the Executive Council Chambers of the state Government House in Yenagoa.

The newly appointed Commissioners include Hon. Alfred Watson Belemote (Community Development), Chief Thompson Amule (Local Government and Chieftaincy), Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe (Health), Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo (Environment), Hon. Alalibo West (Special Duties, East), Geku Godspower (Culture) and Mandy Sylvanus Akpalo (Special Duties, Central)

Others are Prof. Bekei Sese (Agriculture), Alfred Kemepadei Nimizigha (Youths), Dr. Faith Izibenua Zibs (Blue Economy) Onuma Johnson (Special/General Duties), Chief Godspower Oporomo (Ijaw National Affairs), John Alah (Tourism Development), Mr Odoko Saturday Omiloli (Labour, Employment, Productivity), and Gibson Munalayefa (Communications, Science).

Governor Diri urged them to work for the development of the state.

“By the oath you have taken, you have pledged to work towards the greater interest of our State. I expect nothing less from you.

“On behalf of the people and Government of Bayelsa, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of you”, Governor Diri stated.
