No fewer than seven persons, including children, were killed on Saturday morning, when a bomb exploded at Yammama village in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
First News gathered that the explosion, which occurred at a farm owned by one Alhaji Hussaini Mai Kwai, in the village also left an unspecified number of persons injured.
An eyewitness said those killed were labourers, weeding grasses on the farm.
“I counted six corpses while five have been moved to the hospital. Security officers have cordoned off the area,” a witness said.
Many persons who sustained injuries in the attack are currently receiving treatment at General Hospital in Malumfashi.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident.
Isah, however, did not give details.
