Don Jazzy encouraged me to become influencer —Slimcase

Famous singer Oluwafemi Oladapo, fondly called Slimcase, has disclosed that he was encouraged to go from singing to generating and influencing content by renowned musician and music mogul, Don Jazzy.

In a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos, the “Azaman Cronner” revealed this.

“I didn’t decide to become a content creator/influencer. I just found myself doing it. As I was doing music and seeing trends online, I got inspired by Don Jazzy.

“I looked at Don Jazzy’s way of life, from music to other things; how he has stayed relevant through the years and I was inspired. That has really helped me to hold my fans till the right music comes,”he said.

However, Slimcase is admitting to this shortly after Wizkid received backlash on social media for
calling Don Jazzy an “influencer,”

Recall that Wizkid hit back at Don Jazzy when the Grammy-winning musician’s signee, rapper Ladipoe, made fun of the singer for saying that “hip hop is dead.”

Ladipoe said on his X handle, “Watching Afrobeat artists go through their own Nigerian rappers that survived the notion that hip hop is dead.”

Wizkid responded to a fan pointing out the post, writing, “Lol, never chatting with anyone signed to an influencer.”

In addition, he retweeted two messages that seemed to suggest he called Don Jazzy an influencer.

Social media users in Nigeria, including personalities like Mr. Macaroni and Nasboi, creators of skits, and reality stars Tacha and Doyin, responded to Wizkid’s disguised jab at Don Jazzy.
