Bayelsa man sets Guinness World Record for Longest Swimming while balancing football on head

Bayelsa-born Nigerian Guinness World Record holder, Tonye Solomon, has once again etched his name into the annals of history.

Known widely as “Ball Boy,” Solomon successfully attempted a new Guinness World Record for the longest swimming duration while balancing a football on his head.

On Saturday, Solomon undertook this arduous challenge, completing his attempt in an impressive 37 minutes. This remarkable feat surpasses the previous record of 23 minutes, held by a Russian athlete.

Solomon demonstrated his extraordinary skill and endurance as he swam across the Ikoli River in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, with a football steadily balanced on his head.

This challenging endeavor not only highlights his personal resilience and strength but also brings global recognition to the Ijaw youth and the Ijaw Nation.
