Two leading political parties in Nigeria, the ruling All Progressives Congress and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party have celebrated and congratulated Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy and Ayodeji Balogun, fondly called Wizkid, for their success at the 63rd Grammy Awards that took place yesterday, 14th of March, 2021.
Burna Boy won his first Grammy Award, winning the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category for ‘Twice As Tall ‘, his 2020 project.
Wizkid won an award for his effort in Brown Skin Girl, a song by Beyonce, Blue Ivy and St Jhn, which is from Beyonce’s Lion King: The Gift album.
This is Burna Boy’s second nomination, he lost out to Angelique Kidjo in the last Grammy edition.
The two political parties celebrated the great singers via a tweet and further encouraged them that the best is yet to come.
Congratulating the singers, the APC said, “We celebrate Nigeria music and Afrobeat stars Damini Ogulu @burnaboy and Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun @wizkidayo on their #GrammyAwards. The best is yet to come.”
