United Bank for Africa has released guidelines for the annual National Essay competition for senior secondary school.
The annual competition, which is part of UBA foundation’s education initiative, is aimed at promoting the reading culture and encouraging healthy and intellectual competition among secondary school students in Nigeria and across Africa.
As stated in the mail received by our correspondent on Tuesday, the theme for this year’s essay topic is ‘What is the role of technology in educating the African youth.’
UBA in the mail also revealed the prize for winners; N3 million for the winner which comes in hand with educational grant to an African University of their choice.
Also 1st runner up 2.5 million, 2nd runner up 2 million with educational grant to an African university of their choice.
Criteria and eligibility for selections for the essay competition states that an applicant: “must be a senior secondary student in Nigeria.
“Must submit a handwritten essay (750 words MAX) with a passport photograph.
“Must submit a copy of birth certificate, National ID or passport.”
