Twitter is looking forward to restoring its service in Nigeria soon, says the
microblogging site on Wednesday.
The social media giant stated this in response to the disclosure by the Federal Government that it would soon, in a matter of days, lift the suspension placed on the use of the platform in Nigeria.
“We recently met with the Nigerian government to discuss why Twitter has been blocked and ways to resolve the matter.
“Our aim is to chart a path forward to the restoration of Twitter for everyone in Nigeria. We look forward to ongoing discussions with the Nigerian government and seeing the service restored very soon,” a spokesperson for Twitter was quoted as saying by Reuters.
First News reported that the Minister of information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday announced that the government would lift the ban on Twitter in a matter of days.
