Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has recalled 40 political appointees from Effuim community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Uchenna Orji said that the development followed the gradual return of peace in the area after months of the destruction of many lives and properties of natives worth billions of naira over the power tussle on park tolls collections.
The recalled appointees include Senior Special Assistant, UBEB Secretary, Development centre Coordinators, Special Assistant, senior technical assistants, liaison officers, management Committee Members among others.
Recall that all the appointees were suspended since they are stakeholders of the area as a measure to spur them to actions geared towards quelling the crisis.
“Following the return of peace that has returned to Effium/Ezza Effium community and the resolve of the stakeholders of the community to keep the peace, the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi; FNSE FNATE (Akubaraoha), has passionately and graciously approved the lifting of the suspension placed on political office holders from Effium/Ezza Effium community,” the statement said in part.
