Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has invited singer, Burna Boy to join him in his protest on October 1, which is Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day anniversary.
The invitation was extended to the singer through Sowore’s verified Twitter account.
Sowore noted that Burna Boy is often compared to the late legendary Afro-beat musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
According to him, Burna Boy is celebrated by foreign media as a revolutionary musician but retorted that Burna Boy has never done any revolutionary act for him to be compared with Fela.
Sowore wondered why Burna Boy has never led a protest in Nigeria and used the opportunity to invite the wonderful singer to join him in his protest.
He twitted: “Hello @burnaboy, everywhere I turn people describe you as a revolutionary musician, the foreign media even celebrate you, compare you to Fela Kuti, but I am yet to see you lead anyone to a police station carrying a coffin for head of state! Join #Oct1stProtest #RevolutionNow.”
