Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has recovered from COVID-19 after his sample returned negative.
He announced his recovery while addressing journalists on Wednesday in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The governor, who resumed duties immediately after he tested negative, appreciated Benson Abounu, the deputy governor, for standing in for him while he was in isolation.
Ortom equally appreciated the good people of the state, his friends and supporters across the country, for their prayers during the period he was in self-isolation.
He urged the people of the state to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols.
Ortom’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, had announced last week that the governor tested positive to the dreaded pandemic, adding that he did not show any COVID-19 related symptoms.
