Nigerians dragged El-Rufai on social media over the Nigeria Labour Congress, Kaduna chapter change of the name of the governor during the protest that grounded commercial activities and other businesses in the state on Monday.
The El-Rufai led government of the state was said to have recently disengaged over 700,000 state and local government civil servants.
Some of the protesters, in their banners, had El-Rufai’s name written as ‘Hell Rufai.’
This attracted the attention of many Nigerians who took to their Twitter accounts to react to the new name.
Below are some of the reactions:
@yelesowore “Nigeria Labour Congress shuts down Kaduna over Hell-Rufai! Wish NLC leaders have enough balls to shut down Nigeria over Hell-Buhari! #Revolutionnow #Buharimustgo”
@Uchesame “Hell Rufai. 😂😂😂
They really got that name right.
Man is just hell.”
@nweziuche “This man has been wicked since I was 10years old..
Demolished my daddy’s property in Abuja when he was a minister
“Destroyed businesses and home.
I was so young, but I cant forget the pains my dad went through and his friends… HELL RUFAI🔥🔥🔥”
@Mfaarees “Whatever the point you want to prove, you can prove it without calling him ‘hell rufai’ this is very disrespectful, the worst part is that it’s coming from an organization like NLC, this is uncalled for.”
@Dekunle_1 “I’m thinking it’s a yoruba man printed that banner carrying Hell Rufai 🤭🤭🤭
“You know, the H factor something 😂😂😂”
@General_Somto “When You Look At The Future Of Nigeria, What Do You See? I See Far Worse Chaos, Bloodshed And Deaths. Especially When People Like Adamu Garba, Hell Rufai, Atiku Are Pushing To Be President Of Nigeria. If Southern Governors Had The Nerve, They Will Stand For Total DISINTEGRATION!”
@akunnachux “Love the way NLC unleashed hell on Hell Rufai. Like that, all his future political aspirations gone up in flames. Little baby tyrant!”
@oluleasu “His aspirations just begun! A lot of Nigerians want a courageous leader like him. Redundancy is a Nation killer.”
@AA_Basitt “El Rufai called President GEJ; Drunkard, fisherman, clueless and all sorts of unprintable names, but today you are angered that protesters are calling Kaduna Governor ‘Hell Rufai’ 😂🤣😂😂😂😂🤣”
@dedonnse “ If not that Hell-Rufai became governor, Nigerians may have voted him as president.
Nigerians should thank their lucky stars.”
@drpenking “Reverts minimum wage from 30k to 18k, Increase Tuition from 50k to 500k.
“Completely ignores widespread insecurity. Sacks thousands of workers wherever he has an erection
What other name would fit this guy better than Hell Rufai ? No other one.”
@Leetheshrink “When Nigerians are out for you, they’re out for you!!!
Hell Rufai has to go 💪😌 We’re tired of Poverty, Hunger and Insecurities 😫😫😫”
@OceeTweets “And the name has officially come to stay: Hell Rufai! See has you dey disgrace Peter Rufai…”
Also on Monday, Ordinary Ahmad Isah of Brekete Family, a human rights radio, trended on Twitter for slapping a woman who poured kerosene on a minor head and set on fire on the claim that the child is a witch.
Many Twitter users compared Isah’s action to Uduak, the alleged killer of a young woman, Imuron Ubong, wondering why Uduak was not slapped when he was interviewed during a press conference like the woman who set a minor hair on fire.
Nigerians reactions are as follow;
@YomYom_ “Uduak Raped and Killed, he calmly gets interviewed..
“Why is he still looking fresh ? they didn’t even touch him”
“Ahmad Isah, Slaps a lady that burnt a child alive during an interview.
He has no right to touch her.
Aja lo ma je enu yin lagbara eje jesu🙏🏻”
@Oloye “If a police officer had landed one heavy slap on Frank Uduak. He’ll be a hero in these streets.
“But slapping someone who tied up a child and set them on fire is where you people draw the line?”
@Missmotunrayo2 “A woman was slapped because she lit up a child all because she thinks the child is a witch, you people are saying it was a very wrong move to slap her.
Just this week, you people said Uduak was looking too fresh for a murderer. You people should stay one place pls. Anuofia”
@TheBriden “If Uduak had done that press conference with a swollen eye and bruised lips, we would have been pleased even though it wouldn’t still be enough for the life he snatched away, yet you are angry that someone slapped a woman for tying up a little girl and setting her on fire.”
@Ojutony “ My own is, how can you call that person a woman? That’s not a woman, that’s a beast and the thing deserves it.
“Person tie human being, pour kerosene for person body and set am on fire and you say she is a ‘woman’ mtchew.”
@trending_medic “I thought in the case of Uduak Akpan, Nigerians were surprised at his looking ‘fresh’ because the police has a history of brutalizing and embarrassing innocent citizens and their not doing it to Akpan indicates their sympathy for a murderer or possible connivance?”
@labcoatgirrl “Uduak is looking too fresh for you but it is unethical that a woman was slapped because she lit a child oo fire…Embelembe…Ololololoololo”
@Wizarab10 “It is simple. Legally, nobody had right to touch Uduak and nobody has right to touch the woman that set the girl on fire. That would have been an assault.
“Don’t come and double speak. They either both deserve beating or they both don’t.”
@theonly1acre “So back in the days, Abike Dabiri, would have made that journey to Akwa Ibom State to give us the story behind the story on Ini Umoren’s cold murder. However, NTA Newsline on Network Prime time downplayed Uduak’s role and give R**p a new meaning. The Grand cover up is Legandary.”
