Nigerian Super Eagles captain Williams Troost-Ekong has secured a historic victory with PAOK, as they clinched the Greek Super League title for the fourth time.

In a thrilling away match against Aris Thessaloniki, PAOK emerged victorious with a 2-1 win, marking a dramatic end to the season.

The match, held at Aris’ home ground, began with PAOK taking the lead in the 30th minute. Spanish forward Brandon netted the opening goal, capitalizing on a precise assist from Andrija Zivkovic during a swift breakaway.

Aris responded early in the second half. In the 47th minute, Spanish striker Loren expertly controlled a cross from Moses Odubajo inside the penalty area and launched a fierce volley into the top left corner, leveling the score.

The decisive moment came in the 62nd minute when veteran Brazilian midfielder Taison fired a shot from the edge of the area, securing the winning goal for PAOK.

Despite playing the final 20 minutes with 10 men after Giannis Michailidis was sent off, PAOK held firm.

Though Ekong did not feature in the game as he is still recovering from injury, his contributions throughout the season have been pivotal for PAOK.

This victory was crucial as it allowed PAOK to finish two points ahead of defending champions AEK Athens. The win not only crowned PAOK as champions but also ensured their place in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League next season.

The final whistle saw thousands of PAOK fans converging on the team’s home ground to celebrate this monumental achievement, marking one of the most dramatic finales in the history of the Greek Super League.
