Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government in Ogun State, Hon. Adetutu Oyesanya, has laid the foundation for the construction of a classroom and headteacher’s office at St. Martin’s Catholic Nursery and Primary School, Ebute-Imobi, founded in 1950.

The gesture was in continuation of her efforts to deliver democracy dividends to the nooks and crannies of the local government area.

Oyesanya said that her administration decided to embark on the project because the foundation of the school’s classroom was destroyed and in dilapidated form, hence the need to start from scratch and build a new classroom.

While laying the foundation of the classroom on Thursday, she said the project would be completed in a month’s time, while thanking the State Governor Dapo Abiodun for his leadership contribution to the development of the council.

Joined by the councilor representing Imobi Ward 10, who is also the Chief Whip of the Ijebu East Legislative Council, Hon. (Mrs.) Kemi Aliyu, the LG Chairman said, “By the special grace of God, this project will also be completed. The funds need for completion has been accessed one hundred percent.

“We still had to come to the rescue of the school as the structure on the ground, built with mud in 1950, was totally gone and it does not make any sense to put anything on it. The structure has totally dilapidated irreversibly. That was why we decided to build a new Classroom from scratch, complete with a Headteacher’s office.

“There is no ward in the eleven wards of the local government that our administration has not touched with a quality project. We give glory to God and thank our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and his team at the state level for their leadership and commitment to the development of our local government”, she added.
