Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on Wednesday, blocked a call by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, for the resignation or sack of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, for once backing activities of Jihadist leaders and deadly Islamic sects.
Pantami has been under serious attacks for once backing violent activities of extremist Islamist sects and Jihadist, al-Qaeda and the Taliban, before becoming a minister.
Following this, Elumelu during the plenary raised a point of order demanding for Pantami’s resignation or sack.
But Gbajabiamila, overruled the Minority Leader, saying the issue raised had nothing to do with Elumelu’s privilege. “Your point of order is noted,” Gbajabiamila said.
