Fire Incident: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome sees opportunity for renewal

In response to the devastating fire that engulfed the headquarters of Christ Embassy in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, President and Founder of Loveworld Incorporated, expressed optimism and a forward-looking perspective.

During a church service addressing the congregation, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome reflected on the incident, framing it as an opportunity rather than a setback.

He acknowledged previous wishes for a better design for the affected area, noting that circumstances now allow for the realization of those aspirations.

“Some years ago, I wished I had a better design for the affected place. But then, it would have required that we take off the roof. But now, I’ve got the opportunity to have something better there,” Pastor Chris stated.

He continued, emphasizing the spiritual perspective on such events: “When something like this happens, what does God think? God just gives us an opportunity to do something about it. What are we going to do? The house is gone, we clear out the place and build a better one. A more beautiful one. That is what we are going to do.”

Addressing the broader implications, Pastor Chris remarked, “Let the devil lick his wounds. We must look at life from the spiritual. This is not what we call an accident. Everything that happens in our lives is all planned.”

The fire incident, which led to significant damage to the church’s headquarters, has spurred discussions on rebuilding efforts and the resilience of the congregation in the face of adversity.
