…as PDP gets one vote
Ruling All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, recorded a landslide victory in his polling unit during the just-concluded Ekiti governorship election.
Oyebanji got 296 votes in polling unit 003, ward 06, Ikogosi, Ekiti West LGA.
But his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party, Bisi Kolawole, got just one vote and Social Democratic Party’s Segun Oni polled zero.
Earlier, the candidate of the Action Democratic Party, Kemi Elebute-Halle, had alleged that other political parties were engaging in vote-buying.
Elebute-Halle made the allegation after she voted at polling unit eight, ward 10, Ikole LGA.
She alleged that the APC, PDP and SDP were inducing each voter with N10,000; N5,000, and N3,000, respectively.
The APC candidate won in Elebute-Halle’s polling unit, where she placed third, securing 32 votes against Oyebanji’s 47 votes. SDP’s Oni polled 39 and Kolawole of the PDP got 21.
Meanwhile, Oni won his polling unit in Ido-Osi LGA with 218 votes.
With the conclusion of the voting process across all the local government areas in the state, results have begun to trickle in.
