D’Banj: ‘My 20-year journey can’t be complete without Don Jazzy’

“In a heartwarming gesture, veteran Nigerian musician Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, fondly called D’banj, has paid tribute to his former business partner and producer, Micheal Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, acknowledging the instrumental role he played in his career.

While sharing a clip from his recent visit to Don Jazzy, the father of two expressed gratitude for the significant contributions his former partner made to his success, stating that his musical journey would be incomplete without Don Jazzy’s involvement.

The visit, which included an invitation to D’banj’s 20th-anniversary dinner celebration in the industry, sparked nostalgic memories of their shared achievements.

While sharing the video on his X account, D’banj wrote; “My 20 years journey cannot be complete without It’s @DONJAZZY again! Giving him the invite to my anniversary dinner was a moment filled with nostalgia. As we both celebrate 20 years in the industry, I’m reminded of the countless memories and milestones we’ve shared together. Here’s to two decades of brotherhood, entertainment, and unwavering support. Love you always, Brother! OooSHeeeee.”

The duo co-founded Mo’Hits Records in 2004. The label disbanded in 2012 due to differences in interests.

Following the split, Don Jazzy founded Mavins Record Label, while D’banj launched DB Records.
