Presidency has hinted on the possibility of second phase of lockdown in the country, following the recent increase of the pandemic.
This is coming as one of the aides to the president, Tolu Ogunlesi, said that the country may be subjected to a fresh lockdown in the first quarter of 2021 due to the second wave of COVID 19.
Ogunlesi who spoke via his Twitter handle on Monday afternoon, said there is a dare need for the country to take a drastic decision to curb the second wave of the pandemic in Nigeria. “From a COVID-19 POV, looks like H1 2021 will be a lot like 2020 – restrictions, lockdowns, desperate attempts at curve-flattening.
“That’s probably the second most daring roguish feat 2020 have pulled off – this act of deluding us all as an aberration,” he wrote.
Recall that Nigeria went into a three months lockdown due to the pandemic which ravaged most parts of the world.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday had confirmed 418 new COVID-19 infections, taking the country’s total cases to 73,175 cases.
