National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress’ Caretaker/Extraordinarily Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Mai Mala Buni, has said that all actions taken by Niger State Governor Muhammed Bello while he was on medical vacation remain valid.
He stated this as he debunked claims that he had reversed some actions taken by Bello, who acted as APC chairman, while Buni was in Dubai, receiving medical treatment.
Media reports had claimed that Bello, on the order of President Muhammadu Buhari, had permanently replaced Buni.
But in a statement on Wednesday, Buhari declared his support for Buni’s continuation as the APC CECPC chairman.
Following the development, there were claims that Buni reversed some of the actions Bello took during the period he acted as chairman.
But in a statement on Thursday, Buni said he duly transmitted power to Governor Bello.
He said “Therefore all activities that were done in my absence remain valid and binding.
“All party stakeholders and members are hereby advised to disregard the previous statement discarding the activities of the Committee under the leadership of the Acting Chairman.”
He then called for “support and understanding to move the party forward to a successful convention slated for March 26th, 2022.”
