President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Justice Salisu Garba as the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory.
He, however, requested the Senate to confirm the nomination in accordance with the act establishing FCT courts.
The development was revealed after the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan, in line with parliamentary rules read the letter during plenary.
Justice Salisu Garba, who was sworn-in in January, 2021, by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed in acting capacity, will succeed Justice Ishaq Bello who has already proceeded on retirement.
Garba, who was called to the bar in 1984, completed his National Youth Service Corps in 1985. He hails from Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
