There were concerns on Sunday as crowds surged at various times at the Bourdillon, Lagos residence of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress and former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu.
The gale of solidarity calls followed a rumour that Tinubu had died in far-away United States of America.
But First News confirmed from sources that the notable politician is currently hospitalised in Maryland, the United States.
It was further gathered that he underwent surgery last week and had been billed for another one this week.
A source revealed that Tinubu’s death rumour might have been spurned by his likely state of unconsciousness before medics resuscitated him.
Tinubu was missing in action during the last local government election in Lagos.
He was not also sighted at the ward congress of the APC in his Lagos locality.
But in a chat with First News, the National President of T23 (Tinubu 2023!), an umbrella body for Tinubu’s presidential ambition, Dr. Dipo Okeyomi, said “Asiwaju (Tinubu) is very much alive.”
According to him, his death was instigated by detractors.
