Bandits Strike: Six dead in Kaduna community attack

Tragedy struck the Ambe community of Sanga Local Government Area in Kaduna State on Sunday night as bandits unleashed terror, resulting in the loss of six lives.

The Kaduna State Police Command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the devastating incident, disclosing that authorities have apprehended one suspect linked to the attack.

In response to a distress call, police operatives from Sanga Divisional Police Station, alongside troops of Operation Safe Haven, swiftly intervened, engaging the assailants in a fierce gun battle.

Despite the valiant efforts of law enforcement, the bandits managed to flee into the forest, leaving one of their own in custody with gunshot wounds.

Daniel Amos, the representative of Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives, revealing that eight individuals sustained injuries during the assault and are currently undergoing medical treatment.

In a resolute statement, Amos condemned the attack as an attempt to disrupt the peace and security in his constituency, urging residents to remain steadfast in the pursuit of a lasting solution to the prevailing insecurity.

“We must continue to promote peaceful coexistence among our diverse communities, irrespective of our differences,” emphasized Amos, stressing the imperative of unity in the face of adversity.

He implored security agencies to expedite efforts in apprehending the perpetrators, stressing that ensuring the safety of citizens remains paramount.

Amos extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.
