Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has suggested that President Muhammadu Buhari is not sincere about conducting a free, fair and credible election in 2023.
He also described members of the National Assembly who voted against electronic transmission of election results as enemies of the country, adding that they have plotted a coup against the country.
According to Wike, if Nigerians were serious people, all the lawmakers that voted against electronic transmission of results would not have been able to return to their constituents.
FirstNews reported that many members of the National Assembly, especially those of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) recently voted against electronic transmission of election results during the coming 2023 election.
But Wike, in a post on his Facebook wall on Tuesday wrote:
“Mr President can’t tell us he sincerely wants to conduct a free, fair and credible election if he/his party rejects transparency and the electronic transmission of results.
“Those who voted against electronic transmission of results should be ashamed of themselves as they are enemies of the country. It is a coup against the people, the National Assembly has ploted a coup against Nigerians.
“If Nigerians were serious, none of those who voted against electronic transmission of results would be able to go home to their constituents.”
