A university in Uganda has appointed former President Goodluck Jonathan as it’s Chancellor.
The institution, Cavendish University, Uganda (CUU), announced this in a tweet on its Twitter handle.
The tweet read, “Welcome aboard @GEJonathan as you take over as the Chancellor of CUU. We look forward to this new era and achieving great things under your leadership. Success begins at Cavendish!”
With the appointment, Jonathan becomes the university’s third chancellor after late Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, former President of the Republic of Zambia and, Benjamin Mkapa, the late President of the United Republic of Tanzania, who were first and second chancellors of CUU respectively.
If everything remains as planned, Jonathan will be installed on August 26, 2021. He will on the same day, preside over the conferment of degrees and award of diplomas and certificates at the University’s 10th Graduation Ceremony, fixed to hold at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort.
