There’re less than five talented Nigerian artists —Ruger

In a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, renowned singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka, also known as Ruger, has expressed his opinion that Nigeria is currently lacking in truly talented musicians.

He suggested that many artists are simply singing for entertainment rather than producing meaningful music.

Ruger emphasized that, in his view, there are less than five Nigerian artists who are genuinely talented and dedicated to their craft.

“I’m not the biggest artiste in Nigeria but talentwise, I’m standing somewhere there. We are not up to 5”.

“I won’t say where I am on the list but I’m there. It’s not up to five. Most people are just singing for a cruise but we, the talented artists, we make music,” he said.

Also, the singer expressed his surprise upon discovering his significant fanbase in Israel, noting that he sold out a venue with a capacity of 7,000 people there.
