Rangers International of Enugu has postponed their earlier scheduled resumption date for its players ahead of the upcoming season.
The Nigerian government had permitted the resumption of sports behind closed doors as part of efforts towards the gradual easing of lock down.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club side had earlier on asked both old and new players and officials to resume September 13.
However, Rangers management on Monday announced that it had postponed the earlier scheduled resumption date indefinitely.
Reasons for the postponement were not stated and new date for resumption was not also given.
The club in a statement on its verified Twitter handle shifted the resumption date indefinitely.
“The management of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International F.C ably led by Prince Davidson Owumi, has announced the postponement of the earlier resumption date it gave for its returning and new players for the 2020/2021 league season, the club wrote.”
The League Management Company (LMC) has yet to announce the date for the resumption of the 2020/2021 NPFL season.
LMC told clubs to submit their respective licensing application.
They are expected to begin the submission from September 18th with supporting document.
Also, on the spot checking of the clubs by the First Instant Body (FIB) under the jurisdiction of the LMC to verify submissions made will begin from September 21-26.
