The police in Lagos are on the trail of suspected murderers of a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor, Bola Ibrahim.
The cleric was shot during a church service at Maidon Patele area of Mile 12, last Sunday.
The police in the state also claimed it had got clues on what possibly led to the death of the clergyman as well as the perpetrator.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, also assured that the police in the state had begun moves to curb cultism around the Ketu /Mile 12 axis of the state.
The deceased pastor, whose wife recently gave birth to a new baby, was praying for new babies and their mothers during a child dedication service at the church when the assailant attacked him.
The assailants were about dragging him out of the church when some other pastors in the church intervened, seeing that the situation was getting rowdy, the gunmen reportedly brought out a gun and shot the clergyman.
Adejobi, while speaking on the death of the clergyman said, ”A man was attacked during church service. The assailants went for him in the church. We are investigating the case because we have a clue into the killing.
“The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu has directed the tactical Commanders to handle the matter as expected.
“We will unravel the case, the CP has taken steps to subdue cult related activities in Mile 12 and Ketu areas.”
