Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved N13.32bn for life assurance packages for 318,319 personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, disclosed this while addressing State House Correspondents at the end of this week’s FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
The Minister said the contract was for the engagement of underwriters and brokers for life assurance that runs effectively from October 26, 2022 to October 26, 2023.
Dingyadi said this would “encourage the officers and men working to ensure the security of life and property” and to enable them to do more.
“I think we need to encourage them. And that is the essence of the memo,” he said.
