Management of the National Examination Council has insisted that the 2019/2020 Senior Secondary School Examination would continue as scheduled.
NECO further emphasised the fact that the SSCE being run by NECO was a national examination taking place simultaneously throughout the country and, therefore, would not be repeated for any state whose students miss any of the papers.
This clarification was made on Wednesday by the NECO state Coordinator in Oyo State in separate telephone chats with both the state President and Secretary General of ANCOPSS in Oyo State.
The ANCOPSS’s Secretary General, Mr. Akin Akinade, in a statement, enjoined all principals to impress it upon their students that the examinations would continue as scheduled on their time table despite the closure of schools by Oyo State Government.
Recall that Governor Seyi Makinde directed the immediate closure of all schools in Ibadan, beginning from Wednesday, 21 October, 2020, in view of the prolonged #EndSARS protests rocking the state capital.
The governor stated that the closure of the schools would be reviewed on Friday, October 23, 2020.
