More trouble appears piling for the former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorochas. This is as a Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday refused to grant his request to stop the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from further interfering and confiscating his properties.
The Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday refused to grant an order of interim injunction sought by former Imo State governor, Okorocha, against the EFCC and the Imo State Government.
He prayed to the court to stop them from further interfering and confiscating his properties located in various parts of the country.
Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed uphold that granting such an order was not in the interest of justice
The judge, however, fixed August 24 to the first hearing in the challenge by EFCC and Imo State that the motion on notice filed by Okorocha cannot be heard during court vacation.
First News earlier reported that Okorocha, on Wednesday, asked the court to issue a restraining order against the EFCC and Imo State Government from further interfering and confiscating his properties located in various parts of the country.
