There is tension in Oshodi in Lagos State following alleged storming of the area by soldiers over the death of their colleague.
The development is said to have followed the killing of an Air Force officer by some yet to be identified hoodlums in the area.
Soldiers storming of the area Thursday morning, allegedly to avenge the death of their colleague, is said to have thrown the area into a state of pandemonium as many vehicles, especially buses have reportedly been destroyed and people going to work and their business stranded.
The aggrieved soldiers, FirstNews learnt, have taken over major places in the area and are allegedly assaulting some persons.
Photos from the Oshodi incident circulating on social media, showed people going to work trapped and many students running back home. Traders who were observing Thursday weekly clean up of their business environments were are also seen fleeing for their lives while many transporters abandoned their vehicles.
Lagos State police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, as at the time this was filed, said he was awaiting a report on the incident from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area.
