Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known as Vector Tha Viper, has suggested that while Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy has a lot to say, he lacks lyrical skill.
During a recent episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, the father of one emphasized that to make a presentation interesting, one must be lyrically skillful.
“Burna Boy has a lot to say so let him say it. But if you have a lot to say, for you to be interesting, you have to be skillful lyrically,” he said.
He encouraged Burna Boy to speak his mind freely, emphasizing that, as an artist, he has the right to express himself through his lyrics.
This comes after Burna Boy sparked controversy last year by accusing Nigerians of not appreciating him enough, despite his efforts to make the country proud “every chance” he gets.
This statement was made in “Thanks,” a J. Cole feature from his seventh studio album, “I Told Them.”
