A Nollywood movie, ‘Elevator Baby’, which was produced in 2019 by Niyi Akinmolayan, has got an Indian version.
The remake produced by an Indian producer, is titled ‘Thank you, Brother!”
‘Elevator Baby’ featured talented and versatile actors; Toyin Abraham and Timini Egbuson and was released on Netflix last year.
It also earned Toyin and Timini their first Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
According to Elevator Baby’s producer, Niyi Akinmolayan, an Indian producer contacted him in 2020 to remake the movie.
“I got a call from a film producer in India@raparthyr, He had fallen in love with the story and wanted to buy the rights for a remake. I thought it was a joke o…until dollars entered my akant!!! They have made a really beautiful Indian version and I can’t wait to watch it myself,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
The movie is a story about a spoiled child who was trapped in an elevator with a heavily pregnant woman but was able to help her give birth to the child.
Elevator baby premiered in cinemas in 2019 and was released on Netflix in 2020.
Toyin Abraham, a talented writer, role interpreter, and producer, was heavily pregnant for her son, Ireoluwa, when she shot the movie which earned her the Best Actress In a Drama category of the 2020 AMVCA.
