Resident doctors in two teaching hospitals in Bayelsa State on Tuesday embarked on a total indefinite strike as directed by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
The President of NARD at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenogoa, Dr Divine Irole, informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that members of the association followed the directives and are awaiting further instructions from the national leadership of the union.
FirstNews reported that NARDS had at the weekend directed its members across the country to embark on an indefinite strike Begining from Monday, August 2.
NARD National Executive Council (NEC) gave the directive at the end of its meeting on Saturday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
