A faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance on Wednesday suspended a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
He was suspended over alleged anti-party activities.
The development was announced by the party’s National Working Committee after a meeting on Tuesday night.
This was disclosed to journalists in Abuja by the party’s Ag. National Publicity Secretary of the Chief Okeke-led faction of the party, Ikechukwu Chukwunyere.
He lauded the peaceful and successful Special Delegate Ward Congresses of the party where three-member Ward Delegates were elected for the July 1, governorship primaries of the party.
His words “The NWC also applauded the members of the party in Anambra State who thronged to the Ward offices across the 326 Wards in the state to elect the three-man Ward delegates who would elect the Governorship candidate of the Party on 1st July, 2021 in line with the provisions of the Party Constitution, INEC Guidelines and the Electoral Act.
“The party is ready for the July 1 primary election and the winner will lead APGA to victory at the November 6th, 2021 Governorship election.
Meanwhile, another faction of the party led by Chief Victor Oye held it’s primary election to select its flag-bearer in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election on Wednesday.
Soludo, Barr Damian Okolo, a lawyer; ThankGod Ibe and Ezenwankwo Okwudili, were the aspirants in the faction’s poll.
Among those at the exercise that was held in Akwa were the state governor, Willie Obiano and other stakeholders of the party.
