The Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday adjourned the child molestation case against embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, till Tuesday July 27, 2021.
Baba Ijesha arrived at the court for his trial over alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in the care of comedienne, Damilola Adekoya, better known as Princess.
The actor was charged on six counts of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault.
In attendance at the court were Princess and actress, Iyabo Ojo.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, adjourned the matter after the Princess’ counsel played primary evidence against the embattled actor.
Princess, said she met Baba Ijesha in 2008 at an event and the two decided to start making comedy skits together.
She also claimed Baba Ijesha wooed her in the process of their work relationship but she rejected his proposal.
Princess said she got close to the actor afterwards, especially after her marriage crashed around 2013.
The comedienne claimed she invested in Baba Ijesha’s education and the actor visited her at home thereafter.
She also claimed the actor had visited her at her residence on the day he was caught allegedly sexually assaulting her foster daughter.
The judge adjourned the case till Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
