Nigerian youths have been told that power will never be given to them on a platter of gold, hence, they have to strive and fight to acquire it.
Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi threw the challenge to the youths during the round-table discussion put together by the APC Ondo State Progressives Youth Stakeholders (ODPYS) at the International Cultural and Event Centre, The Dome, Akure, the state capital.
The event was themed ‘Patriotic Partisanship; Driving an Agenda of Inclusion and Collective Growth.’
According to the governor, the youths have the potential to achieve anything if they are focused and work towards the desired goal.
He said that there is need for a paradigm shift in the country that would focus on preparing and nurturing the youths for leadership roles.
He frowned at politics without ideology which is being practised in Nigeria, calling on those in positions of authority to exhibit leadership traits the youth can emulate.
He equally canvassed for women to be given opportunity to occupy strategic positions within party structures and governance, emphasising that if the youths remain focused and work towards a desired goal, they can achieve any potential.
