Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians to choose reputable candidates who will consider Nigeria as their project and have their country’s best interests in mind.
He delivered the advice in an interview with reporters on Thursday in Minna, Niger State, following a visit to the recently-returned former head of state, General Abduisalami Abubakar.
Jonathan advised the nation’s young to make sure they choose a president who will put the needs of the people and the nation first without compromising.
In order to achieve fair and impartial elections in 2023, he emphasized that General Abduisalami Abubakar, Chairman of the National Peace Committee, must face intense pressure.
He commended the role of the elder statesman in the country s elections and in the African region while praying for his good health.
The former president also paid homage to a former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, at his residence in Minna before his departure to Abuja.
