…says, E.K. Clark should put national interests ahead of regional agitations
Ben Peters, Abuja
Barely 19 days to the general elections, Chief Tony Anineh’s son at the weekend advised the presidential candidates of both Labour Party, Peter Obi and New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to collapse their structures and work for the PDP presidential flagbearear, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Oseyili Anenih said both presidential candidates have no hope of winning the presidential election, and therefore wished that they should join forces with the Peoples Democratic Party candidate to secure overwhelming victory come February 25, 2023.
Oseyili Anenih, who is the Deputy Director, Polling, Atiku /Okowa campaign council, said with the current situation Nigeria is in, only Atiku Abubakar could fix this country.
“My brother, Peter Obi has made a statement, but you and I know he can not win; the same thing with Kwankwaso. Atiku is trusted, he is the only one that can fix this country. APC has so destroyed this nation that we need a man who understands it, and that person is Atiku. Let us not deceive ourselves, Obi and Kwankwaso had agreements before now, but I’m surprised they are still pushing ahead when they know that they can not win.
“I seriously advise them to collapse their structures, join hands with Atiku who has promised to form government of national unity.”
On Elder Edwin Clark’s comments on Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Anenih said it’s high time the elder statesman man defined his bearing.
He recalled a similar comment by Clark during Goodluck Jonathan 2015 election, that his late father, Chief Tony Anenih took the bold steps to reconcile them.
“On this issue, I believe Clark should be more concerned about this country instead of personal gains. That is my thinking. I ruminate over his comments, as an elder statesman, I will just advise that he should be more focused on what is happening to this country, than talking about Governor Okowa.”
