Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, surprised his fans on Monday as he changed his alias’ name to Big Wiz.
This happened without a prior notice as the music star hinted on how he should be addressed by fans.
However, his fans had suggested earlier that the singer remove the suffix ‘-kid’ from his name, based on his age and achievements in the music industry over the past decade.
His Twitter page, as of the time of this report, is active and still retains the name “Wizkid”.
The father of three has now joined other singers who changed their names like Tuface who changed his name to 2baba, rap artiste Sauce Kid, who changed his name to Sinzu; and Kiss Daniel, who changed to Kizz Daniel etc.
The talented singer started recording music at the age of 11 and rose to fame in 2009. He recently bagged his first Grammy Awards recognition for the song he sang alongside Beyonce Brown Skin Girl.
