Wike reapproves stadium for Atiku’s campaign in Rivers

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been given permission once more, according to Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, to hold a rally at the state’s Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

The Governor Wike-led government of Rivers State had on January 31 withdrawn the initial approval of February 11 on the grounds that credible intelligence and recent development show that the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation is working in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers.

The PDP Presidential Campaign Organization intended to share the facilities with the APC, whose activities are marked by violence and devastation, the government claimed it understood.

On the other hand, Wike said that the government reapproved the use of the site for the Tuesday state PDP campaign rally in the Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area in response to requests from a number of individuals.

The governor also discussed the problem inside the PDP while criticizing Iyorchia Ayu’s statement that a G5 member had visited him (Ayu).

The notion, according to Wike, is untrue because none of the five PDP governors who are in favor of the region’s chairmanship of the party will visit Ayu.

No one, he claimed, can use political pressure to get the G5 governors to stop advocating for their causes because they will undoubtedly prevail in the battle.

According tobwike, no man can drive them from the party they created.

Wike and four other governors of PDP, to support Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, are insisting on Ayu’s resignation.
