Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, has ended his three-year association with Spanish club, Deportivo La Coruña, by signing a permanent deal with APOEL FC of Cyprus, keeping him in the Island nation until May 2023.
This was revealed in a statement on the club’s official website, Friday, on the acquisition of Nigeria’s national-teamer.
APOEL are Uzoho’s third club in Cyprus in the last few seasons, having previously worn the jerseys of Anorthosis Famagusta and Omonia, on loan from Deportivo La Coruña.
His spell at Omonia was cut short after suffering a serious injury that required surgery while on international duty with the Super Eagles in a friendly with Brazil last October.
Aged 21, Uzoho has eight appearances under his belt in the Cypriot top-flight, Protathlima Cyta.
Nigerian strikers, Michael Obiku, Patrick Ogunsoto and Benjamin Onwuachi have represented APOEL in the past.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan Coach Conte has given reasons for not utilising Chelsea loanee, Victor Moses, during the 4-0 rout of SPAL at the Stadio Paolo Mazza (Ferrara) on Thursday night.
Moses was a non-playing substitute as Inter Milan consolidated their position in the Champions League spots.
Against SPAL, Conte picked Antonio Candreva as the starting right wing-back and the experienced Italy international, scorer of Inter’s opening goal, was replaced by Lorenzo Pirola in the 80th minute.
Speaking to Inter TV after the game, Conte explained why Moses was not involved as he provided a fitness update.
Conte said, “I hope we can have Nicolo Barella back ahead of the next game.
“We also hope Romelu Lukaku will be available. Sensi is gradually getting closer to recovering.
“I didn’t want to risk Moses tonight, but he is fit. There are so many positives.”
Moses has made six appearances off the bench for Inter Milan, with four of them in the Italian top-flight.
