Security agents in Niger State have identified a kidnapper whose building was demolished as prime suspect behind UNIABUJA kidnapping.
The suspected kidnapper whose building was demolished in Minna was identified as a 35-year old Muhammed Muhammed Ahmadu.
Commissioner of Local government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Mr. Emmanuel Umar, disclosed this at the Niger State Police Command headquarters, on Saturday.
The Commissioner explained that the suspect who is currently cooling his heels with security agencies is one of the masterminds of the recent incident of Kidnapping of two professors and their family members at the University of Abuja.
He explained that based on credible information in relation to the kidnapping incident at the university, a joint security operation led to the arrest of Ahmadu.
According to him, the suspect upon interrogation confessed to have participated in five other kidnapping incidents.
Umar also disclosed that, the suspect further confession led to the resue of the kidnapped staffs and families of university of Abuja.
The commissioner further noted that, the suspect used the proceed of his nefarious activities to buy the house demolished by the Government on Friday night at Nakagbe area of Minna.
He reteriated the commitment of GovernorAbubakar Sani Bello’s determination to protect lives and properties and rid the state of all criminal activities.
” The state government will not allow the state to be a safe haven for kidnappers, bandits or any criminal ” he said.
He encouraged the people to always be vigilant and report to security agencies, any suspicious activities around their communities, adding that such information would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
